Summary
(Note - US citizens are not allowed to play!) PokerDaddy is one of the fastest
growing poker rooms, focusing on loose friendly games, poker community and
high-level support. The software is good, the games overall are juicy and quite
easy to beat. The tournament traffic is good, the cash game traffic is OK and
there are a good number of high value promotions. PokerDaddy is one of the three
main poker rooms in the TribecaTable network, beside Victor Chandler and Golden
Palace. The network has a focus on low/mid level stakes. Currently, 95% of
traffic is at the Holdem games, but Omaha Hi has recently been launched and
Omaha Hi-Lo, will be added in March. There are both single- and multi-table
tournaments. Real money player statistics - August 2005: 800-1100 ring game
players at peak hours, 2700-3300 tournament players at peak hours.
Software and graphics
Poker Daddy is the in-house version of the software by Tribeca Tables, which
operates this poker room. It has nice graphics and quite good functionality. On
the positive side, there are features like; buddy list function, private tables,
pot- and no-limit ring games, live floor managers, multi-table tournaments and
overall nice graphics. What could disturb the "sophisticated player" is that
PokerDaddy have chosen to provide neither view flop percentage of the tables,
nor notes taking service. This policy is to protect the "friendly games" and not
to facilitate for professional players to take advantage of table selection and
make notes!
Ring game traffic
Poker Daddy has 800-1100 ring game players at peak hours in August 2005.
Tournament traffic
The traffic at Poker Daddy tournaments is often better than at ring games, with
2700-3300 players at peak hours in August 2005.
Game variety
The game variety at Poker Daddy is not so good, with only Holdem and Omaha Hi-Lo
and High (available in both limit, pot-limit and the former in no-limit). Table
stakes are from $0.05/$0.10 to $10/$20 and since recently also at $30/$60 and
$50/$100 for approved players. There are both single- and multi-table
tournaments. Within shortly seven-card stud High and Hi-Lo will be added.
Rake
The rake at Poker Daddy is at the average of the industry. On limit tables up to
$1/$2 there is a $1 max rake, on all other tables there is a max $3 rake. There
is a "no flop - no drop" policy for hands not reaching the flop.
Soft competition
The competition is soft at Poker Daddy, thanks to the focus on friendly games
and somewhat of a gambling clientele at Tribeca Tables (including Golden Palace
Casino and VictorChandler). As mentioned above, the software provider Tribeca
Tables has chosen not to show view flop percentages and does not provide player
notes in order to help the "weaker players". There are not many high stakes
games though, so for "hourly win rate hunters" the site is good, but not
excellent.
Sign up bonus
Get the maximum bonus of $100, at 25% deposit match, by reaching 12500 "action
points" for raked hands (where you just get dealt cards), within 2 months. There
is not partial bonus given out. At the site it is not clear exactly how the
action points are awarded, but it is stated that extra points awarded for
betting in pots.
Loyalty bonus
Yes "action points", which are redeemable for various products. The available
points from a raked pot will be distributed to all participating players on a
pro-rate (percentage) basis.
Promotions
There are very frequent free rolls, typically 2 or 3 per day with prize pools of
$200-$300 and sometimes up to $1000.
Support
There is very good support at Poker Daddy. There are live online and telephone
support, as well as email support.
Financial security
Should be secure, as the network is one of the larger networks and is managed by
poker industry veterans. Good score.
