Poker is most certainly not a sport and its disgraceful that it has been shown on sky sports ( how boring anyway). It is a very teouis game that envolves nil physical abiltiy and requires you sitting at a chair. sports are physical , team building and skillful games - pokr is none of these # what is sporty about it ?? whoever is foolish enough to answer yes needs to re think and not answer any more questions as you are giving the wrong advise |

No, but it's often covered by sports networks (Fox Sports, ESPN, etc.)... |

I wouldn't consider Poker a sport since it's a game of luck. |

Some say if you can drink a beer while you do it, it's not a sport...also, unlike video games, poker doesn't have any leagues with teams, where as MLG has provided a structured league of season tournaments for video games with teams and such.....i aslo agree with the whole luck aspect mentioned in an earlier post...an infant could theoretically beat a world champion if he/ she got the cards he/ she needs so no poker is not a sport. |

Takes great skill, alot of nerves and alot of guts. Requires alot of thinking and knowledge of numbers. getting paid to do it does not diminish poker either. I would think that it would be a sport. |
